How school examinations run.

Class VI – VIII

Half-yearly + annual

Two summative examinations per year, each 80 marks written + 20 marks continuous assessment.

Class IX & XI

School annual

Full-length annual on the CBSE pattern — used as the qualifying exam for board classes.

Class X

AISSE (Board)

CBSE All India Secondary School Examination — five subjects, 80+20 pattern, grades A1–E.

Class XII

AISSCE (Board)

CBSE All India Senior School Certificate Examination — the school leaving qualification.

Science labs & PE

Class XI–XII science subjects and physical education carry a 30-mark practical component.

Internal

Periodic + portfolio

Three periodic tests, notebook submissions and subject enrichment activities feed into the final grade.

Three-hour written examinations for most theory courses; question papers moderated by an external panel.

Practicals

Laboratory & studio

Continuous internal + end-semester practical, weighted 40:60 in most science courses.

Viva-voce

Oral examinations

Mandatory for practicals, dissertations, and every language and performing-arts course.

Assignments & tests

Assignments, class tests and midterms carry 20–40% of the final grade, depending on the course.

Dissertation

Project / research

M.Sc./M.A. dissertations and PG capstones are evaluated by internal and external examiners.

Each course is graded on a ten-point scale. SGPA is the credit-weighted average per semester; CGPA is the cumulative running average.

    Marksheets on the parent portal and cbseresults.nic.in. Verification/revaluation applications via the CBSE portal until 25 May.
